2008 - Enter the Gryphon

The mythical mash-up of lion and eagle representing the ostensible clash between dropped handle bars and big knobbly tyres – perfectly harmonious in reality. Released in 2008 the Gryphon was ahead of its time, though drawing inspiration from the legendary bikes of Charlie Cunningham and more contemporaneously Matt Chester. However, those who 'got it' found the combination of drop bars and big wheels on a smooth riding steel frame to create an incredibly versatile and fun bike on a variety of terrain. It became a cult favourite.

Over the past decade or so, more and more people came to appreciate this style of bike - developing into the genre of 'gravel' bikes.  The Gryphon was at the vanguard of this movement - being the first production 29″ wheeled, disc braked, steel mountain bike frameset designed for use with a drop handlebar.

The Gryphon Ti takes that proven heritage and elevates it.

We currently produce the Gryphon Ti on a custom basis only. Each frame is specified precisely to your needs through a detailed discussion on your requirements. 

From dialling in geometry and tubing selection, to selecting component fitment standards and specifying rack and other mounts - Sam will talk you through the options and make recommendations according to your needs. 

Frame and fork price £2800 (including UK VAT) 

50% deposit payable at time of order, total due prior to shipment - typically  3 months following the order being placed.

• 3Al 2.5V titanium tubing - specification selected for your needs. 
• Headtube choice of straight 1 1/8" external, 44mm ID, or 42/52mm internal
  
• Single, double or triple chainring
• 73mm BSA, T47 or Bushnell EBB bottom bracket shell
• 142, 148 or 157mm (standard, boost or super-boost) thru axle
• Optional internal dropper-post cable routing
• Bolt-on cable guides on underside of down tube or internal from downtube
• Three bottle cage mounts – seat tube, down tube, underside of down tube
• Other rack and cage mounts according to your needs
• Post mount or flat mount brake
• Clearance for 29×3" tyres
